Whether you are analyzing the competition, writing a blog post, or planning a PPC campaign, you start with researching keywords, and you’ll find an abundance of them in the SEMrush database. To ease your routine, we’ve introduced some incredibly helpful changes into the keyword research tools, such as
- a straightforward interface,
- full search history in one place (no duplicate searches or lists),
- exporting keywords to Position Tracking, PPC Keyword Tool, and XLSX or CSV,
- managing all keywords from one place.
Let’s take a closer look.
Search History
The history of your keyword research in the Keyword Magic tool is now recorded in the form of Your Recent Searches, not Lists. This prevents the generation of duplicate lists for the same seed keyword and lets you rearrange your keywords for a new purpose at any time.

Keywords inside each recent search are organized the same way they were inside the list and can be filtered and exported in the same manner.
Keyword Analyzer: New Name and Functionality
Keyword Manager is going to replace Keyword Analyzer, and, as you’d guess from its name, will provide you with all the metrics and functionalities needed for effective keyword list handling.
Don’t worry, all your existing lists will be moved from Keyword Analyzer to Keyword Manager automatically.
You can find this new tool in the left-hand menu and use it to import the results of your keyword research from the Keyword Magic tool or add the keywords manually.

Soon we plan to implement integration with Keyword Overview, Organic Research, Advertising Research, and Keyword Gap, which will let you import, export and merge your lists in just a few clicks.
Feel free to share your feedback about the updated interface and ideas on what else we can do to make your keyword research and keyword list management more effective. We look forward to hearing from you at keyword-magic-feedback@semrush.com.
